In March, the Dodge Momentum Index (DMI) receded by 8.6% to 164.0 (2000=100) from the revised February reading of 179.5. Much of the decline on the institutional side is credited to lower levels of education planning. On the commercial side, slower growth in office and hotel planning pulled down this portion of the Index once again. Year over year, the DMI was 12% lower than in March 2023.

The legally protected materials include concrete, masonry, and other composite materials.

March’s jobs report shows that the labor market remains resilient despite elevated interest rates.
